Woolwich Ferry

Long view looking west from Woolwich Arsenal. On the fer left is the mast of Woolwich Radio at the Thames Barrier gardens. A ferry boat can be seen in front of the south terminal of the Woolwich Ferry. Sevaral piers of the Thames Barrier can be seen in the river. To the right are the tall office blocks beside Jubilee Park, at the Canary Wharf development. To the right, again, is Canary Wharf Tower, flanked by the towers of CitiGroup and HSBC. In front of HSBC is a darker, lower tower which is Barclays, then under construction. In front of them is the white roof-line of Millennium Dome, with the distinctive yellow support masts. On the far right a dark blue ship is moored alongside Tate and Lyle.

Blackwall Basin

Looking east from Cartier Circle. House-boats are moored in front of new housing. The house-boats had only recently been installed when the image was taken. The old entrance to the Thames (now non-navigable) can be seen in front of the white roof of the Millennium Dome. On the right, the empty grass-covered land is Wood Wharf, awaiting re-development.

South Dock

Extremely wide angle view, looking east from the north side of South Dock, just south of Churchill Place. Above the yellow object is Wood Wharf, as yet to be developed. Just right of centre is the Blue Bridge which is now the only entrance to the West India Docks from the Thames. To the right a ship is moored in front of buildings lining the south side of South Dock.
